I went to a SEVENTEEN event recently where they had Rollo Goldstaub from Google helping us bloggers and youtubers understand how to help raise their profile in social media. It was a really useful talk and I hope to apply some of what he taught us into my blogging. After the talk we went into the main room where they were showcasing the SEVENTEEN products everywhere. It was so beautifully set up and they allowed us to pick some goodies to take home with us.
Me being a lipstick fan I of course couldn’t resist grabbing the new Mega Matte Lipsticks £4.49*. The shades I received were ‘I Lilac it a lot’ ‘Violet Summer’ ‘Back to the Fushia’ ‘Roses are Red’. I love the names they gave for the shades. To start with the packaging, I love the matte black with the chevron design in gloss (you may not be able to see from my photos). The packaging is simple and looks more expensive than it is. The shape of the lipstick bullets are quite clever too. The edges are very sharp so you can use the edges are a lip liner too which I always need when I apply lipstick. The application is nice and smooth, as the lipstick is matte sometimes they drag but this one is quite smooth. My only niggle with this product is that I wish the pigmentation was a bit stronger. As you can tell from my pictures the colour pay off is pretty good. However I have some pigmentation on my lips around the corners and it doesn’t quite cover it up. But if you are having the same issue you can use concealer before applying the lipstick to reduce the pigmentation peeping through.
Onto the shades themselves. If you have been following me for a while you know I love bright lipsticks and also my nudes so Violet Summer, Back to the Fushia and Roses are Red are easily my favourite. I lilac a lot is way out of my comfort zone and on it’s own I don’t feel like it suits me. However as Violet Summer is a deep purple, using I lilac a lot in conjunction with this makes quite a nice ombre lip!
Overall I am quite pleased with these and I already took them on holiday with me to Milan! There are a lot more shades in the range so I am curious to try some more.
Until next time..
