Hi all,

As late as this is I finally jumped on the band wagon with the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation £30 but boy it wasn’t easy. Estée Lauder is well known for providing samples of this foundation to help people find the right shade out of the generous 44 they offer. I went to get shade matched a couple of times and each time I got matched to 4W3 Henna. Unfortunately this shade just didn’t sit well with me and thankfully I have a friend who is the same shade in foundations as me and let me use a sample of her Estée Lauder Foundation in 3W2 Cashew. Low and behold this shade was a perfect match.

I am absolutely loving this foundation. It has incredible coverage which it is famous for as well as amazing longevity which I can vouch for as I wore it for over 12  hours and it still looked amazing. The foundation looks still quite glowy even though it’s matte. I also wore this to the gym (I know I know but it was my lunch break) and it didn’t budge. Even after sweating from that or after a long day there is such a small about of shine I don’t even bother with powder because it just looks like a glow.

In the collage above I show you my face before, with half of my face covered in the foundation, full face in foundation and then finally with the rest of my makeup on. You can probably see from pic 1 that I have quite a few blemishes on my skin which get completely covered up with this foundation.

I do warn you though if you have any dry spots on your face this foundation will stick to it and draw attention to it so I recommend you moisturise for mild dryness. For severe dryness I would say use a night oil like Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate the night before to help.

I’m so happy I didn’t wait any longer to have this foundation in my kit because I am absolutely in love with it and it’s now become my daily foundation.

I know shade matching is always tricky so if you are similar to my shades below maybe this can help you start to find the right one!

MAC – NC42, NARS – Syracuse, L’oreal – W7/W8.

Until next time..

  1. Really love this, I wore the double wear foundation when I was a little younger and I think it clogged my skin. I then moved on to the double wear light, as I really didn’t want to give up on this product and have been wearing it for years. However, now my skin is matured a little I think I might transfer back over to the doublewear! Love this post, and love the photo comparison. xx

    1. Yes! I’ve heard so much that this foundation is quite thick and people love the coverage but not the weight. But I don’t mind it to be honest. How do you find the DW light? I’m tempted to try that one as well. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment ☺. Zini

  2. I just bought this foundation in the same shade. I’ve used a sample beforehand and I absolutely loved it! I found it a little tough to remove at the end of the day though. Any tips? x

    1. Ooh amazing! I love it too ☺. Definitely an oily makeup remover it’s much more gentle then trying to scrub it off. The Garnier Micellar Oil infused water is really good or the Clarins cleansing melt with marula oil is amazing to use! Great for waterproof mascara too! 😊

      1. I’ve been wanting to try out the garnier micellar water for a while so I’ll probably pick up their oil infused water tomorrow 🙂 Thankyou for the recommendations!

      2. No problem let me know how you get on! I love the Garnier Oil infused micellar water its quite game changing as I don’t like the original formulas .
