Why I love Facial Oils feat. Elizabeth Arden, Trilogy and Kiehl’s

Hi all,

Today’s post is an exciting one because I get to rave about my love for facial oils. I have combination skin so you may be freaking out if you have the same and thinking why on earth would you add more oil on top of the skins natural oil. Fun scienceish fact: the oil on your skin produces more when you try to strip it away. If you trick your skin by adding a facial oil it reduces production of that greasy t zone during the day.

The first one I purchased was the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate 30ml £36. This is now my second bottle and I still love it. First of all it smells incredible so I always enjoy putting this on. But of course this product has other benefit and contains ingredients such as Evening Primrose, Lavender and Kiehls signature Squalene. These products combined repair and revitalise the skin to make the appearance of a late night look like you’ve had a solid 8 hours sleep. I love to use this especially when I’ve had a late night. It has also been amazing during these colder months where my skin is so dry. I add a drop of this to my Liz Earle moisturiser in the morning to help settle my skin and it works wonders whilst not making my skin appear greasy.

Next is the Trilogy Age-Proof CoQ10 Booster Oil 20ml £29.50*. This product falls under the Age-Proof range where Trilogy promotes it’s not about looking younger but it’s about looking your best self at any age which I think is a beautiful message. The CoQ10 Booster Oil is part of the repair and restore line and contains ingredients such as Q10, Tamanu and Glycablend which is Trilogy’s unique blend. As this product is meant for mature skin the Trilogy team advise that this is used every few days as a booster treatment rather than everyday use for younger skin. This product I have been using to help recover my skin from the dullness it has been feeling recently and it works wonders. After one use my skin was regaining it’s colour. I do use this only to revive my skin when it’s dull just because it’s not targeted for my age..yet!

Lastly is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-over Miracle Oil 100ml £29 which is my newest purchase. Every time EA launches a new eight hour product i feel a sense of excitement. It may be I’m biased because I used to work there but I haven’t found a product in the range I don’t love. When I saw they launched an oil I knew I had to pick up a bottle. This one differs from the other two products as this can be used all over the body including your hair. This product contains Tsubaki oil, Grape seed oil, Vitamin E, Ginger Root Extract and so on all of which moisturises, improves texture and tone and protects the skin.

If you are looking to choose a facial oil each one does something different. The Elizabeth Arden one is the most cost effective and multitasking of the three. As you can use it everywhere this generous 100ml is a great product. If you need a daily boost I would recommend the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate as it’s very light and can be used during the day as well as in the evening. If you have more mature skin the Trilogy one may be for you however even if you don’t if your skin is feeling dull this is a great booster to liven it up.

Will you dare to try facial oils?

Until next time…

      1. I use one from Swedish La Bruket right now and Im also a fan of Clarins facial oil:) /Mary

      2. Ooh yes the Clarin’s ones. I almost forgot. This is actually the first one I every used, the little samples of the Lotus facial oil from Clarins. I loved it! I do find the 3 in my post to be lighter than Clarins though!
