First Impressions – Garnier Oil Infused Micellar Water

Garnier Oil Infused Micellar Cleansing Water

Hi all,

Unless you are living under a rock you must have heard of Micellar Water. This handy cleansing water allows your makeup to come off whilst keeping your skin nice and hydrated. I have of course tried the infamous Bioderma but if I’m being honest I didn’t love it. I felt like my skin felt tacky after and it definitely couldn’t handle my everyday waterproof mascara. I did however get through the bottle. How you might ask? Well I use it a lot to take makeup off my hands when I’m putting on my makeup and for those days where I really don’t want to move and rather take off my make up from my bed.

Anyhow I’m obviously aware that garnier has made a great dupe and then some. I saw some new versions had been released so I picked up this oil infusing one. It states it can tackle waterproof makeup and leave skin moisturised. I love the bottle and you can see the oil separated from the water at the top.

On first use it took off my makeup including my mascara which I was thrilled about and in only a few cotton rounds. It is non greasy as the bottle says which is impressive and it didn’t make my skin feel tacky. I did notice however that the skin around the edges of my eye felt a little sore.
The next day I was so amazed at how moisturised my skin felt. Also it looked really clear and it had reduced redness. I will however note that the instructions don’t tell you to shake up the Micellar water in order to mix the formula which you will need to do otherwise it leaves your skin with a lovely white dry looking patch.

    1. Ooh I will have to look for combination skin one as that’s my skin type but this bottle just caught my eye with the claim of removing waterproof makeup ! Zinita

  1. I wasn’t a massive fan of the original, i found rather than removing my eye makeup it just smeared it around my face. I much prefer oils to micellar waters, so this sounds like a good in between. Its been added to my ever growing list! xx

    1. Really! Does Bioderma do any for waterproof makeup? The Garnier one took off my waterproof mascara with barely any effort I’m honestly so impressed!

    1. Really! I’ll definitely check out your post. Perhaps L’Oreal isn’t the right one for you like Bioderma isn’t for me! Thanks for reading x

    1. Yes, I love oil based cleansers too! I don’t think this one replaces it for me but they are a good medium. Worth a try for less than a 10a :). Thanks for reading
