I went away to sunny Spain last week and thought I would talk to you about what essentials I took with me.
Reimann P20 Once a day Sun Protection Spray SPF 30 200ml £24.99 – This sun spray is so easy to use and is clear so it’s less apparent and doesn’t give off that ashy look I sometimes get from suncreams.
Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Face SPF30 50ml £6.00* This cream smells incredible! It’s very lightweight and non greasy on my skin so it was easy to put makeup over especially as I have combination oily skin.
SmartSun UV Wrist Band Indicator £4.99* The Smartsun band is a handy disposable band that indicates whether you are good to stay out (yellow), need to reapply sun cream (beige) and when you need to get out of the sun as it’s too hot (pink). It’s a great way to track if you are being safe in the sun especially as we are now so aware of the dangers of skin cancer.
Macadamia Professional Weightless Moisture Leave-in Conditioning Mist 236ml £19.60* In the sunny weather I usually let my hair naturally dry (also hotel hairdryers are terrible!). This leave in conditioner not only smells amazing but helped keep my hair soft and less frizzy.
Batiste Dry Shampoo – Medium and Brunette 200ml £3.99 I love dry shampoo. It is my saviour every week when I need to stretch out my hair washing by a day or two. I like this one as it’s made for brunettes and doesn’t leave those awful white flakes in your hair.
Soap & Glory Hand Maid Antibacterial hand Cleansing gel 50ml £2.50 Catch it, Bin it, Kill it. We all know the phrase from when Swine flu hit the UK. Since then I think pretty much everyone in London has a hand sanitizer in their bags. I love this one as it smells amazing and less alcohol like unlike others. Taking anti-bac on holiday is essential as you find yourself in situations where you aren’t able to wash up.
Bioderma Hydrabio Soothing Refreshing Water Spray 300ml £6.49 I bought a smaller version of this when I was in Paris and actually never got round to use it. I took it with me to Spain and actually it was so handy to help cool me down in the sun. I have the 50ml bottle so it fit nicely in my beach bag and didn’t take up a lot of room.
Havaianas Slim Flip Flop in Black £22 – No sunny holiday is complete without a pair of flipflops. I have tons of cheap ones but decided to buy a sturdier pair. I cannot believe how comfortable these are! I even hiked up a small island in these (and a maxi dress – accomplishment!). I chose a simple black pair as it goes with everything. I see tons of people in a Havaianas on my commute and completely understand why!
And of course a magazine and some books are always good on holiday. You can see my cosmo but I also took my Kindle with me. I managed to get through two books in the first half of my trip (I love to read) The Time of our Lives by Jane Costello and No-one ever has sex in the Suburbs by Tracy Bloom. Both really comically books and I did burst out laughing a few times which was funny/awkward for everyone around me I’m sure!
