So if you read my first post (click here) on the PMD Personal Microderm System you will know I have started doing the microdermabrasion treatments at home. It has now been 2 weeks since I first started using the PMD system so I thought I would let you know how my experience has been so far.
So for the first week;
Straight after I used the PMD system my skin felt quite soft and even. However after that I have been getting a severe case of the dry patches. My skin hasn’t been like this for a long time and it has been quite unpleasant but I am pushing through because no risk no reward! I have been using the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate every night to nourish my skin which I do normally anyway but using an oil I feel definitely helps bring down the dry patches and by the end of the week my skin was almost back to normal. I also found I broke out a little, I am putting this down being normal as I do break out quite often. Of course I wasn’t expecting any change to my scars to occur in week 1 but it’s fine as I am aware its a long process.
After week 2;
I found the system much easier to use by the second time and it was much quicker to use the PMD on my face. I was still using the beginner disk at this stage. I do feel that I may have overdone it slightly and gone a little close to the eye area as that part became very sore after using the system, so this is a lesson learned – stay well clear of the eye area as the skin is very thin and it can’t handle this kind of exfoliation. Again the dry patches came back after using it but I continued to use the Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate to help tackle the dry patches. With regards to scarring I feel like I can’t see a difference in person but comparing my pictures from then and now it looks like there is a slight fade in my scars.
So I’ve put in some comparison shots comparing my starting point to the end of week 2 so you can judge for yourself if you see a difference.
For week 3 I think I will upgrade to the blue disk which is the next level up and try this out for a while and see if makes a difference.
Until the next update!
