So I was in Boots only intending to buy a few toiletries but of course I couldn’t help going past the makeup aisles and finding a few bits and bobs to add to my never ending collection
First is the Look Good Feel Better Mini Masterclass Set £19.99 of travel sized brushes. If you haven’t heard of LGFB before they are a charity which support women with cancer. It’s a lovely charity and well known among beauty brands. When I saw they released a set of makeup brushes I thought what a great way to spend my money as part of the sale goes straight to the charity. What I wasn’t expecting was how lovely and soft the brushes are! I can’t wait to use them and I think the powder brush is going to be living in my bag as it’s nice and small.
Next has been a recent launch by Rimmel introducing their not dissimilar to the L’oreal nude collection, the Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Nude collection £5.49. I always love the idea of a brand creating nude lipsticks for all skin tones as it’s something that often gets missed by drugstore brands. However I wasn’t really all that pleased with the range that was offered by Rimmel. All the colours are way to light for my NC42 skin tone except shade 48 which is very dark. I did buy it anyway because I wanted a brown lipstick shade for my collection and I do like the quality of Rimmel lipsticks. It goes on really well and is very creamy and non drying to my lips.
My most exciting find was the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19. My first time using it was when a friend gave it to me in the shade 4 Dark initially and I loved the colour. It has a slight pink tone to it which really cancels out my dark circles and the lasting power is pretty great. I definitely understand and completely follow the hype! It’s amazing for a product that is so cheap and cheerful that I like to keep a back up. The downside is that due to its popularity it is so difficult to find especially the Dark shade so when I did spot this in my local store I jumped for joy, picked one up and also picked up another in the shade Warm Medium which I am hoping to use as a highlight shade. It also looks very similar to the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger which would be an awesome dupe.
The next purchases were made due to a wedding I will be going to later this week. I have worn lashes maybe once or twice in the past and while I love how it looks I absolutely hate the glue that comes in the pack so I opted for the Duo Striplash Adhesive Eyelash Glue £4.99 which is raved about so much among American and New Zealand bloggers. To go with the glue (obviously) I also bought another raved about item the Ardell Natural Style Demi Wispies £5.49 which provides volume and length that my poor lashes could use some help with. I am hoping it will be an easy enough process to put on.. haha wish me luck.
And that’s all for this Boots haul, I’m quite pleased with my purchases and best of all it was under £50!
Until next time..
