Hi all,

I don’t know about you but in the summertime I struggle to wear foundation without it looking super cakey and very apparent that I have make up on! Most of the time I will just stop wearing any foundation and just spot conceal around my scars. I had heard great things about Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free Spf 20 £34 and wanted to try this out for myself as it promises great coverage with a more subtle effect. And the best part was … its oil free which would help my skin out over the summer months where an oily T zone is at it’s worst.

I myself am in the shade Ochre. It’s seems a tad light when I first apply it but it does blend into the skin to my shade. I initially used to apply it with my hands but found it was sitting on top of my skin not blending into it. Once I switched to a brush I noticed a huge difference in how it looks. It has great coverage for a tinted moisturizer. I have used others since like the NARS tinted moisturizer which I like but the coverage definitely isn’t as good.

I love tinted moisturizers as they hydrate the skin so my skin was looking pretty great even after I took off my makeup at the end of the day. In terms of staying power, my T zone is pretty oily so I do notice it slowly start to disappear maybe 5-6 hours after I’ve applied but for me that’s pretty long lasting as nothing stays fixed on my skin anyhow! The finish was really natural, you could see my real skin peaking through and even the odd scar (which I would apply concealer to) so my skin looked quite natural but was evened out which was great for me.

Tinted moisturizer has been a complete game changer for me especially for the summer months – no more cake face for me!

What’s your take on tinted moisturizers?

Until next time..

Zinita x
