Top 3 Red Lipsticks Beauty & the PayrollerMy top 3 red lipsticsk

Hi all,

So recently I wrote a post about my top favourite nude lipsticks (click here for post) and I thought since reds also one of my favourite shades I’d write a post on those too. For reference my skintone shades are Syracuse in NARS, NC42 in MAC, 7.5 in Giorgio Armani.

I love my red lipsticks, I feel like they suit indian skin tone so well. Especially at weddings, nothing looks more perfect than a red lip on a bride (very different from English weddings where subtlety is the norm). I have a few in my stock pile but have 3 favourites I tend to wear more often than others.

The first has to be my number 1 red lipstick of all time MACS’ Ruby Woo £15.50. This is definitely my statement lip colour. I think this shade suits everyone and makes everyone look amazing. It’s a bluetone lipstick so makes my teeth look extra sparkly too! Ruby woo is a RetroMatte shade which is the drier of all lipsticks. My only annoyance with this lipstick is, is that its very stiff to apply, it takes a while to get a full coat but once its on, it doesn’t budge which makes it perfect for all long events.

The second favourite is MAC’s Russian Red £15.50. This one is the newest acquired lipstick in my collection. It’s a beautiful true red. Whilst a matte finish it’s more moisturizing than the retro matte shades. This is a great classic red and is saved for the big events.

The last but never least is Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Red Lipstick* £21. This is a beautiful shade and very moisturizing. As you can see from the swatch its more on the pinky red side but it glides on like butter and is one I use when my lips are suffering and can’t handle a matte lipstick. I love the gold packaging and the little door print on it. Also it’s really useful being rectangle shaped as it doesn’t roll of my table!

What are your favourites reds?

Until next time..
