Let’s face it, we all have those days. The ones where we work so late, are out drinking into all hours of the night or just plain tired. For those nights the last thing you can be bothered to do is sit there taking off your makeup, cleansing toning, night serums and eye creams and so on. So for those days I have a ‘lazy girl’ routine which I put into play to commence my night time routine in 3 easy steps.
I have raved about this product enough that it even has it’s own post (click here to read). Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel with Marula Oil cleanser is my holy grail product when it comes to removing my makeup and cleansing at the same time. It’s so quick and easy I even find it easier to use than makeup remover wipes! Simply take a 10p size amount of the gel and work it into your skin. It will start turning into an oil and you will start seeing your make up loosen (including waterproof mascara). Add a bit of water to turn it into a milky texture and you will see the makeup lift. Simply rinse and voila clean face and no trace of makeup.
I know not everyone uses this method but I feel like it’s necessary for me. Toner helps rebalance my PH after using the cleanser and removes any lingering traces of makeup on my skin. My favourite toner for quite some time has been the Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris. This is meant for combination/oily skin and is so gentle on my skin.
People use different things on their face before bed. My favourite thing to use is a night oil. This is great for both oily and dry skin types. Now I have combination to oily skin and at first I thought night oils are a no no for oily skin but I’ve learned that when you strip your skin of the natural oils your skin produces more oil to compensate. So when you apply oils to your face your skin is content and will not produce as much oil which is an obvious bonus! My favourite one to use at the moment is the Kiehl’s Mighnight Recovery Concentrate. I take a small amount and press this into my skin and especially around the eyes to help them look fresh again in the morning. I’ve also done an indepth post if you fancy reading it here.
This is a super fast routine, over in 5 minutes and it really helps ensure I take care of my skin even on my laziest days. The next morning my skin feels lovely and fresh and you can barely tell I’ve been partying out to the early hours of the morning hah!
Let me know what your lazy girl routines are.. or if you try my routine let me know how it works out for you!
Until next time..
