Another new lipstick launch review today! As you can probably tell I’m quite the lip fanatic. L’oreal released a Colour Riche nude collection earlier this year which consisted of 4 celebrity based nude favourites to suit their skintone. I love the idea of this as it allows you to get a closer match to your skin tone or to your favourite celebrity! Unfortunately I didn’t fancy any of the nudes and so didn’t buy them.
…then the red collection came out and the excitement came too. Again they have picked 4 celebrities and created 4 different red lipsticks to flatter their skin tone. So I popped into Boots and had a look and came back with two of the shades, Blake and Eva.
Firstly the shades are a matte finish. They go on beautifully and are so creamy, they don’t feel drying at all! My favourite is definitely Blake. It’s close to Ruby Woo by MAC which is one of my favourite lipsticks and is definitely a good dupe. Eva’s red is darker but has a hint of brown like a brick red when it’s applied to my lips. This I think is great for day time when a red can be too bright this is more muted. Both shades are suited to warmer skin tones and I fall into that category.
In terms of longevity it has great lasting power! I trialled it out for some wedding events where I knew I wouldn’t be able to top it up much and it was great! It leaves a stain which is helps for long lasting colour.
The packaging is ace, it looks very slick and high end with a matte black case.
The lipsticks retail for £6.99 which isn’t too bad and Boots and Superdrug always have 3 for 2 offers on so it works out quite cheap in comparison to the high end brands.
I saw on the advert there are more people in the campaign and so I’m hoping there will be more releases for the True Red collection and hopefully more colour collections like pinks and corals.
Have you tried the L’oreal Colour Riche Collection in Pure red? Which celebrity one is your favourite?
Until next time…
