So if you have read some of my previous posts you may know that I recently went away to Rhodes for a week. First of all what a beautiful Island! I highly recommend a visit and if you want a relaxing holiday with good weather September is definitely a good month to go.
Now when it comes to packing for holiday you know the drill – you have weight limits and only so much room in your suitcase for big bottles. The best trick around this is to depot, samples and travel sized products. Whenever I get sample sized products I tend to keep them so I can use them for when I travel especially if they are smaller versions of products I already use.
I will go in order of my skin care routine…
I got sent a sample of the Philosophy Purity cleanser in an order I made from Debenhams and this definitely came in handy as it’s a deluxe sample (I still came back with over half the bottle in there) and the bottle I have at home is huge!
My second cleanser I had to depot myself. I poured my Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel With Marula Oil into a muji squeezy travel bottle to avoid having to carry the big tube around. It was quick and easy and was much better for storage space. If you want to read my indepth review click here for the post.
(If you are wondering why I took two cleansers – Purity is for the morning and the Clarins for the evening to remove makeup.)
For toner I received a sample of the Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Toner from Origins when I did a shop recently. Again a deluxe sample it lasted me quite a while. I had never used it before and it’s actually really nice and refreshing yet soothing so I may pick up a full size soon.
Another sample I received from Origins was the Ginzing eye cream. As this was nice and small I took this instead of my regular eye cream. I didn’t like this as much as my usual but it was much smaller and easily fit in my make-up bag.
Now this sample flew off the shelves when it was being sold for £2 with the Glamour mag… The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising lotion. Oddly this is not one of my favourite products but it was easier than taking my awkward big round Origins Ginzing moisturiser.
My last skincare sample turned up on my door step literally the day before I flew out in my GlossyBox. Vichy’s Normaderm Night Detox has been my holy grail product to use at night to help with oil control whilst I sleep all the way into the afternoon of the next day. Although the full size is quite slim the more space I could save the better and so I took my miniature sample I received. If you want to read my indepth post on the Night Detox click here.
I couldn’t believe how much space I had saved which allowed me to take a lot more. The best part was that if I went hand luggage option only all the bottles were under 100ml meeting the airport requirements for liquids in hand luggage.
I hope that’s helped give anyone ideas when packing!
Until next time..
