For those of you who aren’t familiar with the GlossyBox. It’s basically a monthly subscription box full of beauty products, sometimes full size and sometimes samples. You can subscribe to different subscriptions like a 3 month, 6 month or longer for different prices. It averages about £10-£12 per box.
Now I initially signed up for a 3 month subscription (I wrote about the first Glossybox I recieved in May – click here to view my post) but due to some confusion I didn’t cancel my subscription in time and ended up with another 3 month subscription. .. My overall opinion is that I am really disappointed in these boxes, some products were really cheap quality, one box which was a 4th July theme (assuming it was meant to be american beauty goodies) had items I could easily purchase here myself. My favourite thing so far in the boxes has been the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer.
However this last box I received has been surprisingly good! So I will talk you through what I got in my box!
First of all I LOVE the box itself. It’s been designed by Karen Millen YAY. It’s grey rather than the usual pink and has a landscape of some of the famous London buildings and looks gorgeous.
Now to the contents of this box…
It didn’t take me long to spot the Vichy Normaderm Night Detox (click here for my indepth review). It’s a travel sized one and it couldn’t have come at a better time! As I am going on holiday and was intending to take my Night Detox anyway, now I can take this small one and save some storage space in my suitcase!
They also included the Vichy Normaderm Global anti-imperfection Hydrating Care. This is another travel sized one which I have used before but it doesn’t agree with me unfortunately!
Next is my favourite item from this box.. Nails Inc Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat. I have had my eye on this one for a while but didn’t buy it as I felt it was too expensive. But I was so happy to see this in my box! With us moving into Autumn I will be using this a lot with my deeper colours. This was a full sized product.
Another item in my box was the Modelco More Brows Fibre gel. This is a brow gel (similar to the Gimme Brow by benefit). Thankfully this one is in a medium/dark shade as my hair is very dark. I already tested this out and I am so happy. It doesn’t make my brows crispy and it does make my eyebrows look so much thicker! I actually prefer the results and it’s much easier to use than the Gimme Brow! This was a full sized product.
As with almost all the Glossyboxes I recieved a hairproduct. L’oreal’s Mythic Oil is meant to nourish your hair and add a glossy shine to hair. I will get round to testing this at some stage as I’m currently testing out a few products on my hair.
Lastly a brand I haven’t heard of before Skinpep have included samples of their Enzyme and Acid Peel. I am actually really looking forward to trying these out. I love anything that will help brighten my skin from within. Again I will test these out and report back!
And that’s it folks! If I’m being honest I don’t think I will be repurchasing a Glossybox subscription. Perhaps maybe Birchbox? Have any of you tried either? What did you think? If you have tried both – which is better?
Until next time..
