Now I know I am way behind the band wagon, I have been so lazy to go to Nars to get shade matched for the sheer glow foundation, but recently I was in Selfridges and thought it’s now or never! So I sat in the hot seat and turns out I am best matched to Syracuse (MAC NC42 for reference).
After using this foundation a few times I completely understand and am joining the hype. It’s a fantastic foundation. It glides beautifully onto the skin and a little really goes a long way. And the best part… my friends didn’t realise I was wearing foundation in the day time! Fantastic because I always find you can tell when someone is wearing foundation during the day so I tend to stick to my tinted moisturizer.
The shade match is bang on for my skin tone. I couldn’t be happier. To apply this foundation I normally use the Real Techniques buffing brush as I like a light layer on my skin. It’s a light to medium coverage perhaps more to the medium side. It looks super natural and like skin but with an extra glow which makes my skin look healthier. It lasts for hours too.
As I have combination skin I do have to powder my T zone (Using the Super matte translucent powder by MakeUp Forever) as oil still peaks through. I know I could have gone for the Sheer Matte foundation instead but I prefer a more natural glow rather than a matified face.
I’ve taken some pictures (below) of before and after 1 layer and 2 layers to show you how buildable the foundation is although not needed to be honest. Even has a sheer foundation it has superb coverage without looking cakey.
This is with one light layer. As you can see my skin tone has been evened out and majority of my blemishes covered but some still peak through as they are very deep set.
This is with a second layer. As you can see the foundation is quite buildable. In two coats it’s gone to full coverage.I don’t particularly like being my skin looking this flawless, for me it looks unnatural but I have to admit it doesn’t look cakey. If I ever have an important event and my skin has been looking terrible I know this foundation will cover it all up!
I definitely give this foundation a 10/10 and it’s now made it to the top of my list as my favourite foundation.
What’s your favourite foundation?
Until next time…
