As we are in the warmer months now, I like to tone down my make up to a more natural look which in turn enhances a fresh face!
So here is what I do…
Correct – I use the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach on my under eye area to cancel out the darkness under my eyes.
Foundation – Tinted moisturiser is my best friend during these heated months as it looks so much more natural than foundation and feels lighter too. Extra bonus is the added moisture from the product that makes my skin all plump! Now my favourite to use is the Laura Mercier – Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free in Ochre. This has great coverage, is oil free and has SPF 20 all rolled into one! I just apply this all over my face and a bit down the neck to even things out.
Highlight – Now we have all heard the hype about the Nars – Radiant Creamy Concealer and they all have a point. This stuff is amazing!! Crease proof, budge proof and light on the skin. I use the shade Medium2 Ginger as a highlight shade. This goes under my eyes (usual upside down triangle shape) and a little on my chin and forehead.
Set – To set my concealer I use my new favourite powder from Makeup Forever called the Super Matte Loose Powder in Translucent. (I’m so sorry they don’t seem to sell it in the UK as I bought mine at the IMATS, so I’ve left the link to Sephora as they now ship to the UK!)
Blush – During the summer months/day time I steer away from the powder blushers as I don’t like the super matte look during the day. I like a bit of healthy dewiness on my skin. So I opt for the Makeup Forever High Definition Second Skin Cream Blush in shade 410 Coral which is a great natural shade and apply this to my cheeks with a brush.
Brows – It doesn’t matter what I am doing if I leave the house brows must be done! For ease in the mornings I use the Hourglass – Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette. Then I set this with Benefit’s Speed Brow which is a brow gel to help keep those babies at bay all day!
Almost done now…
Eyes – I don’t tend to wear eyeshadow at the moment so my next step is to curl my lashes and use L’oreal – Miss Manga Mega Volume Waterproof Mascara. Loving this mascara recently really makes my lashes look voluminous!
Lips – My favourite lip balm of all time is the Elizabeth Arden – Eight Hour Cream Lip Intensive Repair Balm. This stuff is absolute magic. No other lip balm can make my lips feel nourished and soft like this one can.
And the final step if not the most important is to
Set Set Set – A different setting method at the end I use a setting spray from Urban Decay (The De-Slick Make Up Setting Spray). This spray is the bees knees. It takes away any powdery finishes from my make up, makes my skin look dewy and best of all it has great oil control so I am not constantly checking in the mirror how my T zone is looking.
I have been opting for this look everyday because it’s quick easy and simple yet beautiful results!
Let me know if you switch things up during the summer!
Until next time…
